Times have changed for music producers...
Nowadays, producers sell beats online, or negoiate much less for their beats with major labels, but Timbaland remembers a much different time.
In a recent interview with Producer Grind, Timbo says he used to get between $300,000 and $500,000 per beat at one point, but the game has changed it's like the wild wild west out there.
“We ain’t come from a world where you send beats; we come from when that b*tch was tailor-made, you understand?
The producer was respected way more. You needed a dope producer as an artist. You needed that, and now you got YouTube. People putting beats, it’s just not the same. It’s just like Wild Wild West out there.”
