In 2020, Kanye West and the Gap announced that they had struck a ten-year deal to bring a more accessible version of his Yeezy line to the retailer.

It's safe to say it hasn't gone well.

Ye has been complaining about the deal for months.

Today, he officially moved to terminate it.  His lawyer Nicholas Gravante Jr. sent Gap a letter detailing the contractual obligations they haven't kept up.  Foremost, is Gap not opening any stores that just sell Yeezys and not carrying certain Yeezys in the preexisting stores.

"Ye had diligently tried to work through these issues with Gap both directly and through counsel (but) he has gotten nowhere," Gravante told CBS MoneyWatch. "Gap left him no choice but to terminate their agreement."

Kanye will now focus on opening his own retail stores.

So far no word from Gap.  But we suspect they will be taking Ye to court over this.
