On the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Joe weighed in on his former Everyday Struggle co-host DJ Akademiks dismissing Freddie Gibbs as "irrelevant."

To support his argument against Gibbs, Ak brought up the mediocre first week SPS Freddie's latest album Alfredo did, especially when compared to his former boss Jeezy, who Gibbs had been criticizing as "irrelevant."   

"If Jeezy drop a album right now, he's selling 50,000," Ak said, referencing the 30K SPS first week Alfredo did. "Relevancy means is your music actually doing anything, and to be honest, other than the few people who f*ck with Freddie Gibbs, what relevancy does he have?"

Budden had something to say about that line of argument.

"Relevance and numbers for me don’t go hand in hand,” Budden said on his podcast. “Freddie Gibbs has put out three phenomenal projects and albums in a row. They’ve all been great.  They’ve been with Alchemist whose also been producing for everybody in the universe and that has to do with relevance, not how much you sell, not how many people are at your shows.”

“I don’t respect the numbers game coming from Ak because he’s besties with a n*gga that fakes numbers," he continued. "You more than anybody should know about faking numbers. You taught me about n*ggas faking numbers. I don’t ride with that numbers argument.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj's track "TROLLZ" briefly held the all-time record for most YouTube views in 24 hours. However, their record was stripped when it was found they bought a good chunk of those views.

"Videos eligible for YouTube’s 24-hour record debuts are those with the highest views from organic sources within the first 24 hours of the video’s public release," a YouTube rep told XXl.  "This includes direct links to the video, search results, external sites that embed the video and YouTube features like the homepage, watch next and Trending. Video advertising is an effective way to reach specific audiences with a song debut, but paid advertising views on YouTube will no longer be considered when looking at a 24-hour record debut."
