It's safe to say that many were surprised when Jeezy filed for divorce from TV host Jeannie Mai after just two-and-a-half years of marriage.

Rumors then started to spread about the Atlanta rapper cheating, but he denied it on the song "Don't Cheat," off his recently released I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget album.

So far, Jeezy has been rather tight-lipped about the divorce, but that changed when he spoke about it with Nia Long, who had her own highly publicized split when she parted ways with NBA coach Ime Udoka last year.

During their chat, Jeezy revealed that he and Mai went to therapy to save their marriage but it didn't help.

"This has not been an easy journey," he told Long. "I can tell you that I’m sad, I can tell you that I’m disappointed, I can tell you that I’m uneasy ... But God has put me on a different path, and that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself and to love myself and to be in the best situation that I can thrive as someone who’s been through all of the things that I’ve been through ... I can only be responsible for myself. I can only do what I can do. I can’t expect someone else to do what I’m doing."

Meanwhile, Mai hasn't opened up about the split yet.
