JAY-Z wasn't among the rappers Kendrick Lamar declared his intention to murder in his famous "Control" verse.

In fact, K Dot recognized Hov as a potential GOAT in his "Control" bars.

He did, however, declare himself "King Of New York."  Which could have potentially rubbed JAY the wrong way.

According to Troy Ave, Hov did record a response.  But he never dropped it.

“Now, here’s another thing, a little fact that everybody might not know. This is a fact, though. JAY-Z went in there with Young Guru and he recorded a response. But guess what JAY-Z did? He never released it. He don’t have to. Sometimes n*ggas say, ‘What would Hov do," Tory revealed, using the anecdote to reveal why he isn't going to respond to Uncle Murda dissing him.

"Control" is a big part of why Kendrick is the star he is today.

Do you think Hov could have knocked him off that course with a successful response?
