In 1991, businessman and cocaine kingpin  Michael "Harry O" Harris provided Suge Knight with $1.5 million in seed money to help set up Death Row Records.

At the time, Harris -- who had owned real estate, a car dealership, a limousine service, a construction company, and a Beverly Hills hair salon -- was three years into a long attempted murder and narcotics distribution bid.

Even though Death Row made many millions, Suge never paid Harris or his wife Lydia anything. The two sued Death Row in 2005 and their $107 million judgement effectively shut down the label.

According to The Daily Mail, Harris will be released in the coming weeks after serving 31 years.

The 57-year old promised he will only use his talents and resources for good:

"Over 30 years ago I was part of the problem,"Harry O admitted. "However, over the years I have repeatedly proven myself to be part of the solution. It’s about returning to society with my new found vision, talents and insights. Giving back to the communities where my help is so desperately needed. And I can say that this next part of my life journey will be from a place of truth: the young boy that I was, is very, very proud of the man I am today."

Suge Knight is a few years into his 28-year sentence of voluntary manslaughter.
