Dave East is dropping his debut album Survival on Nov. 8, and on it he has a Nipsey Hussle tribute song. He talked about the new album with RevoltTV and during the chat he said and the late rapper were working on a joint project together.

"We were six songs in," said East. "We were planning a tour and all of that. F*ck rap. I’m going to keep it 100. That was my n*gga. Anything we did together or anytime I had to be around that n*gga, I cherish it. It’s wack he went out like that. That n*gga’s a king. Kings ain’t supposed to go out like that. But that’s the world we’re living in. It’s wack he went out like that, but it sharpened me and a million other n*ggas up. He went out like a G."

East then talked about the tribute song.

"I didn’t know [I was finished with the album] until I did a tribute for Nip," he explained. "I didn’t want to talk about anything else. I talked about everything. I got sh*t about my moms. I got sh*t about me playing ball. I got sh*t about me being locked up. I went mad personal and I wrapped it up with a tribute to my boy. Once I said what I said to Nip, I was like, ‘We’re good.’" 

The two rappers collaborated before Hussle was killed on March 31 on tracks such as "Clarity" and "Blueprint."
