The Weeknd and The Rich The Kid promoted their latest projects in different ways.

For his debut album The World Is Yours, Rich has been releasing singles and engaging in antics for months.

The Weeknd's EP, My Dear Melancholy, came as more or less a surprise.

According to Hits Daily Double, Weeknd's project will do between 150-175K first week SPS, with 55-65K in traditional sales. That should be enough to finish number one for the week.

That's a big drop off from the 348K his proper album Starboy did in 2016 during its first week. However, since My Dear Melancholy only has six songs -- none of which were released earlier -- it wasn't able to accumulate any pre-sale streams, or as many post-sale spins.

Rich The Kid's The World Is Yours is slated for a 50 to 60K opening frame. That's about what Teka$hi 69 did with his debut album last month.

Rich has been pleased with the reception, and broke down and cried as he acknowledged his fans.
