Takeoff is the latest high-profile rapper to be gunned down in his prime.

The Migo was shot dead at a dice game involving his uncle Quavo and J. Prince Jr.'s Houston crew.

It's unclear who fired the shot and there is some chatter that Takeoff and Quavo's security may have hit him by mistake.

Boosie Badazz took to IG Live today to lament how rappers have gone from being heroes to targets.

"Shaking my head man. Humble n*gga," he said of Takeoff.  "Badass music syndicate sends their prayers out.  This rap sh*t wack now, I ain't going be lying.  We targets now.  We used to heroes.  Everybody want us out of here.  RIP Takeoff ... You still want to be a rapper you a stupid motherf*cker.  You either killed or going to jail.  N*ggas just didn't like rappers.  Everybody want to kill a rapper because they can't rap.  Rappers used to be royalty, rappers ain't sh*t no more."
