50 Cent's Loses His Final Appeal In "In Da Club" Lawsuit Against Rick Ross

In 2015, 50 Cent sued Rick Ross for $2 million for using "In Da Club" on his mixtape Renzel Remixes. It was a head-scratching move, given Fif clearly understands how mixtapes work.  Fif's attempted legal justification for the suit was arguing that Ross was specifically using the remix to promote his retail album Black Market.

In 2018, a judge dismissed the case because 50 doesn't own the copyright or master recordings for "In Da Club" -- Shady/Aftermath Records does -- thus, he had no right to sue in the first place.

50 appealed the dismissal, arguing Ross was exploiting his name and voice regardless of who owned the masters.

Earlier this week, U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit, meaning 50 is out of options.

In addition, there have been indications things are starting to thaw between Ross and 50.  Fif recently admitted he loves The Bawse's track "BMF" and would like to use it on his upcoming Starz series on the Black Mafia  Family.

Ross countered that he may actually clear it for 50 if Fif plugs Wingstop wings on Instagram.
